When everyone is browsing the attractions near semenyih or Seremban, I tried to divert my search a little to explore the places such as Lenggeng and Mantin. Suddenly, this Jelatok Retreat Farm popped out and it seemed trying to catch my attention.
When I clicked into it, I saw the beautiful resort homes layout and the very breathtaking surroundings with rolling hills. This resort homes is identical to a small Scottish village abounds with amazing floral and fauna.
I tried to book few times on a adhoc decision, however, the resort had been fully taken. Eventually, I managed to book it one week in advance for a weekend stay. The owner is very responsive and always prepared to respond the guest's queries. Their prompt and speedy response to my queries was truly impressive.

This farm Retreat is situated remotely in a forest area surrounded by greeneries and rolling hills. It's actually nestled in the core of the Jelatok Mountain side. This resorts is beautifully facing the Jelatok mountain and it's built on a higher ground with a little private farm operated by a family business.

To access to this resort, you need to drive approximately 3 km off road to reach out this place. It requires to drive though some narrow and winding pathway, sandy trail as well as piercing across a palm oil estate. However, trust me, this challenging journey will lead you to a heavenly beautiful resort.

Very quickly, we'd established a great relationship whereby she had passionately shared with us all the gardening facts and information. She did a brief introduction about the resort amenities, and she shared with us the itinerary during our 2D1N stay. We'd never been left unattended at any one moment.

The flooring, the bathroom, the bed sheet, the bedding equipment and etc are really well tidied and the cleanliness is tip top. When we entered the room, we could feel the freshness in the room. The air is well ventilated, odourless and clean.
The room was given a bowl of torn pandan leaves so that it made the room scented with a natural pandan smell. We could feel how caring the owner is. This shows how guest oriented they're. The cleanliness is truly rated at 5 stars.

To further entertain the guest stay in guest, the resort has arranged some activities to make your staycation a more meaningful one. Ms Laila dedicated herself as our farm guided tour.
A. Farm Guided Tour
Ms Laila toured us around the farm and she patiently explained each and every plants to us. She was very generous to share her knowledge with us and always prepared to answer all our queries about gardening. She was truly an amazing and guest-oriented person.
Ms Laila will never quit learning. She always keep herself ungraded through reading books, and other Internet sources to gain as much information as she could. That's also the reason that made her avery informative and sociable person.
Ms Laila's mom is also a very caring and generous in sharing the information. All the exotic plants within the resort are her most precious gems as she has been persistently doing some fact and information exchange about the plants. She even loves swapping the plants with others who are also having the great devotion in gardening.
Ms Laila walked us through all the pot plants, and she described in detail about each characteristics of the plants. Through her finest description, all the plants seem coming alive and trying to stand out as a most eye catching one.
B. Horse Feeding
Additionally, this farm is having their own barn housing about 4 horses. A mother, father son and a foal. They're a family.
Ms Laila gave them a name.
Mother - Diamond
Son - Tommy
* can't recall the father and the foal name.
The guest has a chance to feed the horses with snack. Carrot is the favorite snack of the hourses
Ms Laila explained that the horses here is a special breed. It's bigger than a pony but smaller than the normal horse.
There are many guarding dogs within the resort. These are also the watch dogs too. They are guarding the place and to protect the place from the invasion of the wild animals.
Jelatok Farm is nestled in the middle of the forests. There are many wild animals can be possibly spotted in the vicinity of the resort. The owner Dr. Said shard with us that some aboriginal had spotted some the animal of leopard, tapir or even a sun bear. According to Dr. Said, two of their loyal dogs had been killed by the Sun Bear.
10. History and Establishment
Dr Syed family likes traveling. They brought back some of the ideas during their trips and to implant into the resort concept.
According to Dr. Syed, they started with a private farm . Once in a while, they will invite friends to come up here for a chill-out. His friends then strongly encouraged him to run a resort business. This has triggered Dr Syed ambitious mind. He then took the courage to build the resort and a cafe.
Some of the architecture are mocking the concept from Scottish Village. Dr Syed family used to stay in Scotland for a while. They'd been obsessed to the Scottish village charm. Thye brought back some ideas and started blending into their resort concept.
Besides that, some parts of the resort decoration are also mocking some places around the world where they've once visited. Such as Sahara Loop is shadowing the Morocco beauty, the English Garden is referring to the Scottish village environment and the curve stone Bridge is inspired by a story teller bridge from England.
There are many things to see and learn from this resort. Simply spend a night here to get closer to all the plants and nature. When you really put aside everythint and empty your frustrated mind, you will find what we need is actually a " GOOD REST"
By the way, the tagline of this resort is to let everyone find their inner soul through learning from all the pot plants. There are simply too many take-away if you can observe all of them and try understand their characteristics and features.
Thank you for the perfect staycation brought by the Dr Syed Family. A truly perfect staycation !
