Bidasari Resort - A beautiful resort within a FAIRY LAND

Janda Baik is one of the place where the local Malaysian can get a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle city. About less than 1 hour drive, you can gain an access to all the beautiful resort homes nestled in this forested place.

Janda baik is having the most virgin tropical forest and all the resort homes are leveraging on this beautiful mother nature and starting to set up their retreat houses here with the themes of jungle or forest stay.

One of the hot pick is Bidasari Resort. This resort can be commonly found in Agoda and the major booking platforms. However, the detail shown in the website is not so detail & complete. As I was looking for a bigger group unit and the website did not really illustrate the room layout for accomodating a bigger group. As such, do call for a more detail information.

This resort is remotely built on a small hill and the pathway leading to this place is indeed narrow and steep. The narrow pathway which cater both way traffic require really a great cooperation from all the drivers from the 2 flow traffics. Especially when 2 sizable cars passing through from different direction.

There is a designated parking area woth a wooden stairs descending straight to the lobby. The check in time is 3pm sharp.

We've booked a water cottage which comes with the capacity of 7 pax. The layout of this water cottage is very unique and comfortable.

My walkthrough as follow :-

Our water cottage villa :

Exterior :

This water cottage villa is a 2 storey concept. It's built on top of a lake and its named after a flower called Melur.

There is small link bridge connecting to our room & few other cottages. Our room is located right to at the edge.

Looking from outside, it looks like a floating villa rising up from the water surface. Surrounded by a mirrored and peaceful lake.

It's a little bit alike the British style cottage, as the roof is in triangle shape, and the square shaped windows 🪟 are so prominent as if a mysterious house 🏠 in an old England era.

There is also a fountain ⛲️ in the middle of the lake. It's truly a picturesque scenery.

Interior

For the interior of the cottage, upon entrance,

A. Attached toilet

(the toilet is divided into 2 units stationed at the right and left within the villa. One is for showing and freshening up and another one is for passing. Ground and upper floor are with attached toilets too.

B. Ground floor is featured with :-

-Queen Size Bed

-An extended balcony overseeing the lake

-A small living hall with a dining table and chairs

-A cabinet with complete amenities including hair dryers, iron board, laundry bag, iron, dispisable sandals and hangers.

-TV with Astro Channels

-TV cabinet

-A spiral staircase going up to upper level.

-Mineral water (spritzer)

-Fridge

C. Upper level

Upper level has been well furnished with 5 single bed. All the linen, bedsheets, pillow are satisfying.

The Upper flood is more like an attic space. This corner is really unique and well organises. All 5 single beds are well fit into this corner.

This attic is surrounded by small window too. So peeping out from the window, the entire lakeview is within the sight. This attic place is truly beautiful and well exposed to sunlight.

The entire villa is air-conditioned. Including ground and upper level.

Surroundings

The compound of bidsari resort is very spacious. Our Villa is situated at the last section. It takes almost 10 mins walk from our Melur unit to the restaurant and all other facilties.

Activities / facilities

There are many activities within the resort to keep the guest entertained throughout the entire stay.

The activities include :

1. Horse riding : the horse riding is next to the parking area. The guest can buy the package straight from the horse riding counter. Price as follow

Joy ride : RM 32.00 for 10 mins

Single session : RM 108 for 45 mins

We took the joy ride and the entire ride was guided by horse keeper.

2. River splash

Thr resort is surrounded by the river stream. Its child friendly. During the stay, the guest can also enjoy the rover splashing

3. Swimming Pool

The pool is really amazing. It's overseeing the grass fields. And it's infinity Pool. The pool is spilt into 2 sections Adult and child. The child pool is also featured with a man-made waterfalls hut and slides.

4. Grass fields

There is a very spacious grass fields in the centre of the resort. There are some kiddies entertainment tools for leisure play. Such as zip line ( for child only - not more than 60kg) some aerobic balls and etc.

5. Fig farm

There is a fig farm for in house guest visit. The guest can experience picking the figs by paying a price based on weight. The price is RM 25 per 250gram.

6. Walk and Instagram

As the compound of the resort is huge, there are many beautiful spots for the guest to take some memorable pictures. Do find them out

7. Plants and Trees

There are many beautiful plants and Trees within the resort. We've even spotted some exotic flowers species. One of those is in blue colour. Like a little fairy 🧚‍♀️ glowing in Avatar forest. For those who love planting, this might be your favorite place to spend your time with all the gorgeous flowers and plants. So extraordinary !

9. Deer Park

There is also a Deer Park within a walking distance from the resort. The deer park is closeby to the fig farm. It's actually just right opposite the fig farm. You will surely not miss when you're heading to the fig farm. The deer is so much tamed and approachable. Do request for some grass for feeding them.

Breakfast

Breakfast is usually included in your staycation package. The breakfast is served in a buffer style. Although there is not much variety, the tatse is rather satisfying. One of the highly rated one us their Nasi Lemak Sambal Paate. The sambal is so savoury and it goes well with the coconut fragrant rice. Its truly authentic. I find a good breakfast need not to be so much variety, a quality one will be great enough gratify your tatse bud and charge up your mood in a beautiful morning.

Dinner

Dinner is optional. But you can also opt for their ala carte dinner menu and delivery to your room is available. Their localised dinner set like fried bihun, fried rice 🍚 or turmeric chicken rice are the best choices too. Again, the Sambal is still the most tantalising one !.

For a 2 day 1 night stay in Bidasari Resort was truly an amazing experience for us. We find this resort has met all the expectations of ours particularly on all the basic necessities as well as the the facilities.

Just a comment for improvement:

The villa can be further improved with more chairs and tables. There is also no coffee table and chairs at the balcony too. Our Villa for 7 pax capacity was only furnished with 2 chairs and 1 small dining table. It's not enough to accomodate the seats for all. So some of us have to sit on the floor.

Anyway, we do love this Bidasari resort very much. It allows us to immerse ourself into a zero pollution air and surroundings. During our stay, we find the our pace had been slower, and all the stress had been temporarily paused. The only company is the scent of flowers and the long rooted tree with their modest greets.

It's truly a great retreat to empower a deep rest and meditation especially when we just need a moment to purity our long tormented souls due to all the living stress !
