Sg Janggut Homestay - A stay by the fishing valley 

Sg Janggut Guest house is operated by a Chinese family and they started with "Wave Rest House & Cafe" managed by the elder brother and this Sg Janggut Guest House is a latter phase managed by the younger brother. 

This modest guest house by the fishing village has been well known by the locals. Especially the "Wave Rest House & Cafe", it has been very popular and always with the high occupancy. Advance booking is always required to avoid disappointment. 

So happened, we came across this Sg Janggut Guest House by the younger brother named Zhi Yong, so we decided to spend a night here and try out their specialities. Zhi Yong is very responsive to any of our queries about this homestay. He always gave his best efforts to accomodate the guest special request and other preferences. 

With his hospitality as well as the very responsive characteristics, we have so much confidence in this place. So we have taken their package which include the following: -

1. RM 180++ per pax ( including Seafood Steamboat dinner and breakfast ) 

2. Optional Activities ( RM 35 Adult, RM 20 child) 

2.1 Sun Set viewing 

2.2 The migration of millions of birds / to watch their daily routine. 

Upon arrival, we'd been assigned to a cabin  room facing the sea. The room is very basic but you can rest assured that the room is clean and all the basic necessities are in order. The room interior is well organised too. We were so impressed by the comfort of the bed as well as the strong pressure of the shower. 

The guest house is having a very limited units, each cabin consists of front and back and 2 storeys. So in total there are only 8 units as a whole. 

The main building with multilevel deck is located next to the container house. The rooftop is featured with a chill out area. This main building is also built in a container style using the kind of aluminum material. 

The owner used the recycled gasoline tank to furnish the entire place and some are utilised as the lounge and bar table. There is also a book shelf with plenty of books for reading pleasure. Imagining reading your favourite book with cool sea breeze, what a relaxing day! 

From the chill-out platform here, you can observe the borderless ocean with their routine of low and high tide. Watching the wondeful sunset and reminisce all the beautiful memories. 

The lower deck of the main building is a small dining corner with a open concept kitchen. This is also a place where our dinner was served. And there is also an extension area at the side of the building for resting and coffee sipping. 

The container house is very unique and comfortable. The aircond is working well, shower pressure is strong and the mattress if the bed is very superior. Linen and all the bedding equipment are very clean and hygienic. 

There are also some optional activities to be opted for during your stay. The activities are as follow 

1. Sun Set boating tour 

2. Mangrove Walk 

3. Fire Flies 

4. Watching thousands of birds flying back to their nest

5. Experiencing catching the shellfish 

6. Cycling at the beach ⛱️

Breakfast and Dinner 

Breakfast and Dinner are included under our stay package. 

Dinner:

The dinner is blissfully awesome. They're prepared a Steamboat dinner with all sort of seafoods amd ingredients. 

During our stay, the owner has offered us some extraordinary shellfish as a gift. We were so much pleased to have this limited offer. 

Breakfast : 

The breakfast is rather plain and simple yet delicious. There are home cooked fried Bihun and fried Rice, toast , coffee and tea. 

We've also opted the activities as follow :-

1. Sun Set Boat Tour

That was the first time I was so close to the York. I've never seen such a beautiful sunset in my whole life. The captain sailed us to the middle of the ocean, without any blocking, we managed to see to entire sun gradually suck into the sea horizon . 

In fact, we've stayed here twice, the 2nd time was that lucky as yhe weather was rather cloudy. 

2. Watching hundred birds flying back to nest.

The captain also stop over at a place where we could witness thousand of birds in flying in batches back to their nest (treetop). We were so shocked to see such phenomena. They're just like human, going out in early morning and back in the evening. 

3. Fishing village boat tour 

Our package included fishing village boat tour, the captain will cruise through a river with fishing villages at the both sides. To let us experience the life of a fisherman. 

4. Mangrove tour

The next day morning, we've been led into a mangrove to experience catching tiny Crabs. Our tour lead demonstrated how to catch the small Crabs using bare hands. He poked the hands into a mud and slowly grabbed a pile of soft mud. And the tiny Crab with prominent red colour crawled out from the mud. It's really interesting. 

This is truly an authentic fishing village stay. How often the people like us living in the city could experience the real life of fishing village ? 

This place will ideally illustrates a real life of fishing village. It allows you to temporarily set aside all your working stress and the only things that bothering you are the boat engine sound and the fishy smell. 

The fisherman departs early in the morning to the deep blue ocean and return with a sleight full of fishes and seafoods. Their hardworks has gratified our tastebuds with all sort of seafoods pleasure in Kuala Selangor District. 

I've been truly impressed by this plain living lifestyle. The hardworks committed will finally be realised through a great catch. The lighthouse is the only mentor to guide them through their way. No human intervention, no politics, and no conflicts .
