Kuala Selangor Discovery Vol.2 - Colourful Kuala Selangor / Tanjung Karang

Kuala Selangor / Tanjung Karang -  A casual trip with quick getaway vol.2

Trailing to my last blog on Kuala Selangor and Tg Karang, I revisited over a weekend and simply found some interesting things to do. Sometimes a short getaway could be a quickest way to rejuvenate your tired soul. It doesn't have to be a long distance drinking, less than an hour will lead you to all the hidden gems!

I hereby share with you what can you do in this modest Fishing Village and of course the foods are still my key intention of being here.

Sniffing the air with fishy smell, fishing boats are passing through the river every now and then, restaurants are lining up alongside the river and serving fresh and juicy seafoods, cranes are busy with catching the fishes, and mild salted sea breeze gently tapping your face. This is Kuala Selangor / Tanjung Karang.

A place enriched with frenzy seafoods and good catch !

2. TK COCONUT

A food park with all the local food delights. The key highlight is their coconut shake. It's very refreshing especially sipping it under a sunny weather.

Do try out their Sambal shrimp Nasi Lemak and Mee Siam. Both are equally amazing and savoury. Especially the shrimp Nasi Lemak, the amount of shrimp given is really generous and likewise the portion.

This place is well decorated too with some coconut trees linking up and a lot of open-air seats. You can also choose to seat near a river stream. The ambience is superb.

Same post in my prevous blog, I re-posted this Pantai Kajang here. Truly love this beach side especially you can sit on the swing beside the beach and watching the beautiful sunset horizon.

The beach is clean with a lot of beautiful seashells. This is one of my high rated seaside in Kuala Selangor District. It's a good recreation park especially you are looking for a quick access to a beach side.

Kuala Selangor

1. Hidden Curry Noodles (Bagan Sungay Yu Curry Noodles)

Very localised stall sit on a very old fishing village house. Trust that this is a home base business. All the dining tables are overseeing the Kuala Selangor river and do come during evening to see the breathaking sun setting by the modest Fishing Village!

I do love their curry noodles and spicy rice. They've very generous with the tiny shrimps. Taste is very localised too. Price is certainly way below the hawker price. Super affordable.

Location Tips

A little bit hard to locate this place. You need to first locate the 'Bridge 6 Restaurant' and enter using a small path way just right beside the bridge 6 restaurant. Just walk into it and you will see a old wooden house with an extended platform. Some dining tables are set up on the platfor.  That is the current noodles stall.

Do have your breakfast here. You can find the most old town memories & taste in this unnoticeable coffee house. Their coffee house has nothing to impress you but their foods do. A bowl of noodles or stir fried noodles can simply recall some of the old town or your Granny recipe in good old days ! Thier toast is superb too

6. Pasir Penambang Fishing Village

Walk along the boardwalk in Pasir Penambang and experience the living life of fishing village. Experience the modest living lifestyle in this fishing village and seeing the fisherman returning with great catch and good harvest. That's the most satisfying way of living. No hustle bustle, no traffic, no hypocrites.

Manage to speak with one of the local villager. A silver hair Senior woman. She was teaching us the way of catching the Crabs, and some technique of spotting the crabs hole. I find this is rather interesting and at least something new to our city boys and girls. Sometimes, this sharing is priceless as we can only get to know this facts through a real life experience.

7. Le Shore

This is one of the most stand-out resort in Kuala Selangor. Sitting alongside the riverside, overseeing the rapid river bank and featured with a balcony overview the beautiful river side.

This resort is very clean and complete with facilities. With 2 Queen size beds and an adequate space of balcony, it's truly relaxing and comfortable. Imagining sitting at the balcony, seeing the fishing boats passing through every now and then, or simply watching a quiet starlit sky, that's too awesome !

There is also a chill-out corner ar the edge of the resort, so the guest can comfortably sit at the corner and having some chit-Chat session. Or sipping a cup of latte and feeling the slightly salted sea breeze, what a deep rejuvenating!

Came across this very interesting homestay in Kuala Selangor. Will surely try out the accomodation in a day. The house looks very artistic and the interior is decently set up like a lovely home feel.

There is extended veranda overseeing the River. I'm sure it's very relaxing !
