Hai Shang Ren (海尚人) restaurant

Hai Shang Ren Seafoods Restaurant TanJung Karang - Beyond An Ordinary Dining Experience!

I came across this seafoods restaurant from one of my friend FB Page. Coincidently, the owner of the restaurant is one of my old friend who was leading a tour of my Japan trip.

Apparently, this restaurant is using a different concept and the menu is rather a revolutionary one. It distinguishes itself from other traditional seafoods restaurant in Kuala Selangor and it uses the urbanised decoration as well as the ocean as a dining background.

It very much emphasises on the ambience and the comfortability to further complement the overall dining experience. As such, the guest is here not only for fresh seafoods but for the superior dining experience. This restaurant is strategically facing unblocked seaview and the direction is towards a perfect sunset horizon.

Imagining dining by the sunset, chewing the fresh seafoods and feasting your eyes with beautiful sunset horizon. Listening to the sound of waves, all the plated seafoods seem coming alive !

Location :

The restaurant is just stationed besides a borderless sea and plenty parking available.

Landmark

There is one Big Fish statue in front of Hai Shang Ren restaurant. This is also the popular photo spot. This fish statue implies a great catch from the sea. It's always freshness guaranteed.

Menu

Menu is having wide range of selections.  and it serves all kind of seafoods in special cooking style. Some are very unique and very much in their own invented recipe. One of the signature is their 3 layer fishe. The fish has been split into 2 portions and cooked in diffrenr flavours. The most eye catching is their serving. They're served in a 3 layer basket stand. The bare fish with meat removed is placed at the top layer.

Our order :

We've ordered the following :-

A. Half KG Crab in their signature cooking style (Sweet and Spicy)

Comments : The crab is served in the size of XL and super fresh and the meat is tender, juciy, plump & succulent! The prestine white and the bouncy flesh will tell how fresh the crab here. The savoury gravy is also a perfect match with rice or Bun.

B. Half KG of crab with stir fried bee hoon.

Comments : As mentioned-above, crab meat is firm and bouncy. Freshness guarantee.  However, the bee boon is a bit too waxy. Trust that it's having too much excess oil. It will be perfect if it can be more dry in texture.

C. Vegetable with 3 eggs mixing

This dish is fantastic in taste. The egg gravy is well mixed with Vegetables. Very appetising and it goes well with rice too.

D. Clams in premium soup

The clam served here is probably one of the freshest one that I ever taste. The soup base is just awesome. The soup is well flavoured with the scent of rice wine, the essence of the clams, ginger, black fungus, mild corriander. Really tantalising !

E. Fish Maw Soup

The taste is good but suggest that the fish maw to be boiled slightly longer to achieve a softer texture. This is a good side dish if you need some hot soup to sooth your stomach.

Price

Price is reasonable with this superior setup. For all the above order only cost RM 180. it's really value for money

Service

Service is good and the staff are attentive

My overall comments

I find this is a very trendy seafoods restaurant. The restaurant is clean and having a very impressive dining ambience. Diner will find this is not only a restaurant but a place where they can capture some beautiful memories besides the taste.

Nowadays, people opt for dining experience. It's not only about a tasty food but it's the moment that matters. People satisfaction is to *FEEL* the foods instead of *EAT* the foods !.

Vin bro. Keep it up ! You're on the absolutely right trend!
