Happy Bentong Farm - Go Beyond A Farm Stay !

Happy Bentong Farm - Go beyond a farm stay.

I've come across this resort few months ago and planning to have a staycation here. However, 2 attempts of my booking earlier were not successfully due to fully occupied. Part of the reason was due to my last minute booking.

For the 3rd times attempt, finally I managed to reserve 2 pax staycation package. I had been drawn by this farm stay package due to the itinerary was indeed so much complete and organised. Moreover, the farm organiser has scheduled every interval program without letting the guest feel idle. Additionally, they package the full board meal which the guest will not have to scratch the head to source for their meals half way during the activities.

Happy Farm Stay resort is nestled in the core of Bentong valley and surronded by lofty mountains. The closeby is the Kechara Forest Retreat.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted warmly by the owner Alexis. She was very hospitable and friendly in person. She was giving us a heads up of what would be the next course of plan and activities . Besides she has given us a clear guide and instruction what we are supposed to expect for the upcoming programs as well as activities.

She has allocated the room key and asked us to freshen up abit before undergoing the first activity which is river swim.

Happy Bentong Farm has occupied a sizable land compound and it accomodates both camping and chalet stay. The resort is indeed very clean and well maintained. The most eye catching is the big banner with the title "HAPPY BENTONG FARM" set up at the higher ground area. It's like the Hollywood signature sign. Very fascinating !

From the resort, you can overseeing the beautiful rolling mountains just right in front of you ⛰️ . They're half sunken in the cloud carpet. It seems like a passage to the paradise island. The scenery is so much beautiful and earthly paradise.

The canteen is the main hall for the guest gathering before the departure of any program. Its also a dining place for dinner and breakfast.

Below is my walk though -

Room

There are 2 types of stay.

- Camping site and chalet

1) Camp site

If youre more adventurous, do opt for their camping 🏕 site. It will be having more outdoor exposure.

2) Chalet

Chalet will be more like a resort stay. With attached bathroom, air conditioning and basic facilities. We've opted this and the room is indeed very comfortable and cozy. Air conditioning is well functioning. The chalet is built in a brick house concept with tiled roof. So it's a sound proof despite being in a rainy day.

Itinerary / Activities

River Swim

3.45 pm - A lorry will transport the guest to the river swim. There is an open air seats behind the lorry truck 🚛.  It's indeed a good experience for having been seated behind the lorry trailer while the truck is moving along the forest. Exposed to the natural wind, and cool buttock massage when the truck roll over a bumpy roads.

The river swim is really cool. It's not so rapid and the water is rather shallow. So it's suitable for splashing or a wading pool for kids. The river water is so refreshing and rejuvenating. Soaking into the pool as if doing a cold 🥶 water 💧 sensual massage. Super comforting.

5pm - taking the same lorry back in the resort. Unfortunately, The organiser has to call off one of the farm visit due to covid-19 outbreak in the farm. We are supposed to visit a vegetable farm called "dignity farm". So ended up we shower and straight for our dinner.

Nevetheless, Alexis promised to give us a replacement (Vegetable Harvest).

Dinner

6.30pm - The dinner is served at 6.30pm. Steamboat dinner is served. The portion is unexpectedly generous and all the ingredients are fresh and variety. There are seafoods, sliced meats, meat ball, vegetables, tofu and etc. All the best selections are served in a big tray. The most stand-out is the dipping sauce. The dipping sauce is made by one of the lady owner. The chilli paste sauce is super savory. It goes well with the Steamboat!. Big credits to this lady owner.

Night walk

After a satisfying meal, we continue our programs. "Night walk" . We all gathered at the canteen at 8.30pm, Alexis and one of the appointed workers led us into a the dark forest. Besides the lights from the torch lamp, we basically couldn't figure out the pathway ahead.

They brought us to see their own cultivated bee hives, and most investing is a kind of tiny birds. They lays eggs everywhere on ground. So if you spotted them, you can see a glowing eyes in orange or red in the dark.

Walking in the cold and humid forest, it was a priceless experience and we should be thankful to Edison whom the scentist invented "LIGHTS". In the darkness, our mind seems to be completely broken down, and the silence in the forest seems hiding millions of secrets.

Special thanks to the Happy Farm for such a night walk experience.

Campfire

9.30pm - when everyone is back to the base, another exacting ceremony is coming up to further entertain the guest. It's "CAMPFIRE". Alexis and her assistant helping with the fire set up and we witness the fire heat from a small dot until threatening red. The heat warm up the entire farm and the power of heat is also drawing a beautiful ending of the day.

DAY 2

Hiking for the sea of clouds

6.45am - The hiking to view the sea of clouds starts from 6.45am. All the guest was punctual and very cooperative. We started our hike at 6.45am sharp. Alexis led the way and we hiked about 50 mins to reach out to the peak.

Along the way, we could see a lot of exotic flora and fauna, some unique species of birds, trees and the pathway slowly ascending up. Every stage of the ascending would give us a specific scenery. The higher we hiked, the more holistic it was.

Finally, the entire mountain and town were below our feet. Standing at the peak, we felt so achieved and everyone just had a perfect sweats. The panaromic view up at the peak was super breathaking. Seeing a layer of ribbon cloud draws a beautiful horizon, and the sunshine slowly piercing through the cloud and reflect on the mountain. This is the magnificence of the nature of God.

Taking the same way back to base took us another 50 mins. The entire journey took about 2 hours.

Breakfast

Breakfast was served at 8.30am. It's not a classy one but it's indeed a hearty breakfast. The breakfast included a home cooked stir fried Hokkien Noodles, Toast, Sausages, Organic Eggs. Simply the best ! The home cooked hookien mee was really tasty and it was really a heartfelt taste. Could feel the dedication of the lady owner chef ! Haha.

Vegetable Harvest

9am - As the organised has called off one of the farm visit, they replaced a vegetable farm harvest for us. We managed to pick and harvest the grown vegetables. There were long beans, cucumber, Chillies and etc.

Picking takes only few mins, twist and cut it from the mother plant. However, imagining how long the farmer needs to take care of all these vegetable and how much efforts they've dedicated to have such a good reaping. They might take months or even years. So do treasure every leaf we eat. It comes from the sweaty collections.

Chicken Pen / Eggs collection

At 9.45am, this will be the last activity before we check out. Alexis arranged a few staff to lead us to the chicken pen and collect the organic eggs.

The hens lay egg in a designated wooden box. So the kids were given a chance to collect the eggs using the basket. They went into the chicken pen and start collecting. It was quite fun. And Alexis demonstrated how organic eggs texture. When you cracked the eggs, the organic eggs tend to form a gummy fluid drop.

Goat Farm Visit

After chicken farm. The next will be goat farm. The goat loafing shed is very clean and well managed. The worker tamed all the goats to be a more obedient and discipline one. The worker fed the goat with the micced tofu Mills and he offered us the goat milk. For sentive stomach, it's advisable not to take goat milk. Observing the goat in the shed, they're actually having their own living community. They sometimes fight, and always grab the foods without considering other kids. Probably that's how ecosystem works.

After a farm visit, we all went back to our room and preparing for check out.

In an overall, I find our 2D1N stay was very fruitful. The full board itinerary was truly well planned and scheduled. The people are friendly and welcoming. And there was also a bunch of dogs guarding our safety throughout the stay.

My Mesaage <>

This is a very nice farm stay resort. Sometimes we might tend to lose out our true self in this hypocritical world. We forgot about the basic living and the fundamental of life. Probably the goat is smarter than a man. At least they're just fighting for their basic living foods. Unlike mankind, we seek for position, status, a more luxurious lifestyle or food wastage.

Take a weekend getaway and immerse yourself in this nature. At least they're the most truthful ones. Nothing to hide and nothing to lie. This is due to they're our long forgotten "basic of life"
