Bayu Lestari - Pulau Babi Besar - The Hidden Atlantis

Bayu Lestari Island Resort - A virgin island to heal your inner soul.

Since my last visit to Batu Batu resort, I've been obsessed to the islands surrounding Mersing. Less than 40 mins boat ride, it will lead to all the magnificent island resorts.
All these secluded islands are outshining with their heavenly beautiful sand beaches, gorgeous resort homes and mirror alike sea surface. They've preserved the most beautiful Coral Bay and the entire marine sanctuary.

I've come across this resort nestled in Pulau Babi Besar. It's called Bayu Lestari Island Resort. With a very affordable full board package, I've decided to pay a visit to witness its exclusivity. The departure jetty in Mersing is sharing the common passenger jetty with Tioman Island. The entire boat journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

Upon arrival at at Bayu Lestari Resort, our boat was docking at the edge of the Bayu Lestari private jetty. We need to walk along  a board walk from the jetty to reach out to the main lobby of Bayu Lestari.
Walking along the boardwalk from the jetty, we were drawn by the beautifully contrast colours of the sea. From deep blue to dark green and gradually to a light green towards the shoreline.

Some patches of corals underneath the sea water can be clearly seen from the board walk. Zero pulution and the underwater world has been transparently reflected under a warm sunshine

Few bowing coconut trees in a cool sea breeze seems so welcoming us.
From the boardwalk leading to the main lobby of bayu bestari, we could see all the  beautiful wooden design chalets and villas lining up left and right of the coastline.

All the villas and chalets including the main lobby architecture are using the theme of traditional malay houses. Mostly are in wooden material. It's truly classy of viewing from a distance.

We were greeted by the hospitality of the resort crews and they assisted us with the check in procedure.
Welcome drink was free flow at the main lobby lounge.

Their meals menu is fixed. Unless you're having a special request, and it's subject to availability . Usually westerners could also request for some western meals as some Asian meals are spicy flavoured.

6.  Room Interior

We'd booked a sea view exclusive villa. Unfortunately, our air conditioning wasn't working, and the staff was taking immediate action to change us to another villa slightly behind the current one. Yet this wasn't a full seafront view and it was just a partial sea view. We were fine with it as the air-conditioning outweighed everything else. Without it, we might not be able to sleep well.

This is a standalone villa with traditional malay design. Mostly in wooden material. The interior of the room is rather spacious. It has 1 queen bed (with 2 joint single bed), and 2 separate single beds. The queen bed is framed up with a wood pillar stand and covered by the Mosquito net. Full of honeymoon atmosphere.

The room is equipped with all the essentials including
A. Closet
B. A stand fan
C. An extended balcony with coffee tables and chairs
D. Bed side table
E. Dim lights
F. Attached Bathroom
G. Windows 🪟 at all 4 sides of the villa. It helps with circuiting the air within the villa.

Bathroom

The bathroom is super spacious with a huge basin cabinet and mirror.
The shower area is set up at the corner of the bathroom. And the toilet bowl is at another corner of the bathroom.
Serious, the bathroom is really big and spacious. The size is almost equivalent to a small dancing studio.

Pro & Cons

Pro :
1. All the villas are very built just at the sea front. Anytime is the best time to swim at the sea.

2. The beach at Bayu Lestari is clean and having finest sand. It's suitable for swimming.

3. Diffrent kind of fishes and corals can be spotted at the shallow areas. Snorkeling is highly recommended.

4. Meals are served in generously portion and taste is satisfying

5. Room are comfy and equipped with all the basic needs and equipment.

Cons

1. The sandlies and bedbugs are quite exccesive. Do bring along the insect repellent

2. The noise of the frogs is loud and clear at night especially during rainy day.

3. The toilet has to be further improved as some parts of the timber have been eroded due to contacting to water long period of time. Besides  the shower corner can be expanded further instead of sqeezing into one corner since the bathroom occupies such a huge space.

My overall experience staying with Bayu Lesatri is wonderful. The deep blue ocean with the magnificent colours of the sea is truly soothing the eyes. Simply lying on the bench and listening to the sound of the waves, and let the cool sea breeze gently tap on your face, relax your mind by seeing the bordeless sea and lastly, let the sunlight pierce through the coconut trees leaves and create a light of hopes!. This is indeed an unforgettable island sensation.

Staff are super hospitable too. They will try to meet all your additional request during your stay. Extra credit to Mr. Khairi for being very attentive to us. He managed to room change for us due to aircond issues. And he was friendly and very customer oriented.

Thanks for the wonderful experience staying with Bayu Lestari. A complete stress- free secluded island that empower a soul healing sensation.

The only companion is the bowing coconut trees, the healing sound of waves, sensually therapeutic fine sands and the soothing sea breeze. The sunsetting at the horizon always draws the beautiful ending of a wonderful day. Mother ocean always unselfishly embrace us with their borderless surface and hearty underwater world.

I've never regrets of being a sea fever fans !
