Bagan Hailam - A smaller version of Pulau Ketam.

Bagan Hailam - A smaller version of Pulau Ketam

Bagan Hailam is a fishing village within port klang district. It doesn't require boat transfer as it's reachable via land transit.

Not many people know about this small fishing town due to its size is not as significant as Pulau Ketam and the population has been reduced tremendously over the years as most of the youth have chosen to migrate to city centre since it takes only an hour plus of the driving distance.

This village used to be called a trash village as the rubbish had been dumped into the river bank and most of the restaurant did not keep the place clean. However, after ample efforts dedicated from the residents, they manage to restore the place with some nice landscaping, and refurbish some parts of the village.

Some people will purposely travel all the way here from city just to feast the most fresh and succulent grilled seafood which is known as the top best in Bagan Hailam.

Let's walk into the village and see this humble and authentic fishing village life.

1. Bagan Hailam Board Walk

Walking on the board walk and experiencing the floating fishing life.

2. Bagan Hailam Long House

Most of the houses here are using the long house concept. Basically one house can accomodate few families as there are multiple rooms partitioned in one house.

A very harmonious neighbour spirit.

3. Bagan Hailam Traditional Wooden House

Although houses here are built from wooden material, they're strong enough to make through storm & rainy season.

Villagers believe God has been protecting their living place from attacking by uncertainties and giving them good harvest throughout the year. Hence many temples can be seen here.

4. Temple 1 - Du Tian Fu Temple (都天府)

5. Temple 2 - Ba Bao Shan Temple (八宝三)

8. Local Coffee Shop

A local kopitiam serving best coffee and toast. A very humble coffee shop with no fancy design but full of traditional taste.

9. No. 1 Bagan Hailam Seafood Restaurant

One of the best seafood restaurant serving grilled seafoods. Highly recommended. Especially their grilled prwans and crabs. They rub a layer of barbecue sauce on the surface of the seafoods and grilled them until golden brown.

The seafoods appears to be so nicely grilled and the inner meat is so succulent and tender. You can smell the mild burn with a kind of teriyaki scent when freshly serving.

10. Tanjung Harapan

If you manage to visit Bagan Hailam, don't forget to stop over Tanjung Harapan Park to have a leisure walk at the beautiful coastline.

The best time to come is during evening. The beautiful sunset with the complete york will draw your full attention and leave you a memorable ending of the day. Tg Harapan is the best place for fishing too. You will see many people patiently sit beside the shore waiting for the great harvest.

11. Sealion Fishing Park

There is also a recreation park for fishing pleasure. If you love fishing, I'm sure this is the right place for you to spend your leisure time to gain a peace of mind and fulfill your long awaited hobby and desiration.
