Desaru Coast (Sand & Sandals) - Johore Bahru - Yong Peng

Desaru Coast - Johore Bahru - Yong Peng
( BABY / CHILDREN FRIENDLY TRIP)

My family and I had spent 3 days 2 nights on the above itinerary during the last CNY festive holiday. This was really an exciting roadtrip whereby We'd experienced from the beautiful coastline resort to luxurious city suite. Every stay seemed so satisfying and enjoyable.
Although it took us 5 hours drive to Desaru, the vacation was indeed worthwhile and unforgettable.

1. DESARU COASTLINE / SAND AND SANDALS RESORT

Upon our arrival at the resort,
watching the layered blue ocean rolling the waves to the shore and appearing like a white bubbly belt, cottony clouds remain still on the sky as if the sun would soon be melting them, golden sand stands out as a contrast between the deep blue ocean under the hot sun, hot breeze containing some sandy smell gently tap on our face, and we knew that we'd picked a right resort with such a relaxing beach getaway.
There were many in house facilities such as swimming pool, wading pool, lounge bar, Jacuzzi, swing, gaming room, cafes, children playroom and etc.
You can rest assured that your family and kids will be drenched into unlimited funs and wonderful moments in this resort.

Rate : RM 550 - RM800 per night

2. Private Beach / Sand & Sandals

There is a private beach within the resort. And the direction of the resort is facing East. Thus, you would be able to watch the perfect sun rise and enjoy the warmest greeting from the morning SUN🌞
In that instance, *EVENING* will be the best time for swimming in the mother ocean as the weather has become cooler and sheltered when the Sun is setting on the other side.
Sand-castle, water splashing, beach volley ball, are sprouting out from nowhere in the evening, and couples are capturing the portraits shooting along the seaside, folks are sitting down under the trees to enjoy the evening breeze, this is an awesome coastline will bring our family together!

3. Dining in the resort ( Spices and Herbs Restaurant)

Desaru is rather a secluded place in Johore. Not many restaurants are available in this town. Without having driven out for hunting food, in house restaurant is the perfect choice for you to dine in. You can take your own sweet time to freshen up yourself after a long day sand-bathing, as the restaurant is just located in the resort.
Price is reasonable and the foods are licking good too! After dinner, you could still take a stroll along the coast, watching the star lit sky and hearing the zen ocean waves.

Spices & Herbs
Daily Operating Hours: 11am - 11pm
Try the sirloin steak. So succulent and juicy. Personally, I prefer medium rare. It tasted just perfectly nice !

4. Firefly Valley Leisure Park

Checking out from the sand and Sandals resort was truly unbearable. Yet, thinking to move on to the next exciting itinerary, we were at no option to leave this wonderful stay.
Our next destination was in Johore puteri harbour. From beach to a complete city suites, it was truly a contrast and different kind of sensation.
We stopped over in this firefly leisure park to let my nephew experience the petting zoo park. This firefly valley is a very family-oriented park. Beside a petting zoo, it's also featured with other activities like firefly watching, canopy, animal feeding, and a seafood restaurant to fill up your stomach.
They're also having package tour including fire fly watching, price is reasonable. It's worthwhile to be here.
The road getting in here was uneasy, you've to drive through a bumpy rocky path about 1km long.
The park set up was look alike a small valley abounds with lot of natural gems.

5. Pinetree Marina Resort

This trip was totally amazing for us. We managed to experience 2 completely different stays, from beach to a elegant city suites in puteri harbour.
Pinetree Marine Resort is located beside the quay of puteri harbour. Hence, you would enjoy a panaroma quayside view as well as a beautiful commercial township by the bay.
The service suite is very elegant and urbanized, and every unit comes with full facilities and deluxed furniture and fitting.
It's a very comfort stay and hotel comes with infinity pool facing the quayside, gymnasium, kids playroom, library, saunas and many more.
It's also a baby friendly suite. You don't have to worry if you bring along children or infants.
Soaking your side into the modernised infinity pool, sipping a glass of orange juice, closing your eyes and slowly immersing into a ZEN mood. What a perfect relaxation!

6. Dining at Puteri Harbour (Restaurant Olive Kitchen + Bar)

If you're staying in Puteri Harbour town, you don't have to travel long distance for dinner or meal. There are many restaurants in the vicinity and very accessible to the public.
Just along the quay side of Puteri Harbour, you will find a lot of lounge bars & cuisine type of restaurants lining up at the boulevard.
Pick a table at the open sided, enjoy the windy & charming air while having your candlelight dinner or family dinner. It's so remarkably cool.

7. Breakfast in Tea Garden

Managed to find this kopitiam style restaurant for our breakfast place. Surprisingly, the food was amazing especially the signature white coffee.
It was a very localised kopitiam place serving all sort of local breakfast set. Recommended match from me would be - Toast + White Coffee/ Kopi O, or Nasi Lemak / Mee Siam + half boil eggs + rich hot milo.
We were truly satisfied with this local kopitiam taste & all the foods served were so hearty as if long lost hometown feels.
Moreover, the restaurant was air-conditioned, you can have your meal comfortably even with presence of infants or baby.

7. Forest City JB

In my previous blog under Kota Tinggi / JB, I've detailed my write up about this place. We revisited here with my sis and brother in law & let them sight the wonder of this place.
We had a perfect family bonding time here when our youngest family member (infant) truly enjoyed all the decorations and kiddies play park with all the kids-friendly facilities set-up.
I would say it's one of the MUST VISIT spot when you're in JB.

8. Yong Peng Fish Ball Noodles (Yuan Yuen) 元延

Bouncy fish ball? White pearly colour made from fresh fish meat, uneven circle shape, soaked into the aromatic fish broth soup..... that's Yong Peng. It's a small town well known with its authentic hand made fish ball.
There are many fish ball noodles stalls in this town, & you can rest assured that every stall is having same quality of standard.
We've chosen this shop with longest book history, Yuen Yuen ( 元延)。The moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the aroma of fish scent, and naturally, we started observing the history write up on the laminated wall, subsequently, searching the menu to find out the essence of this restaurant.
Couldn't wait to have a bowl of hot fish ball soup, fish ball served was too scrummy, soft & tender, feel like chewing the real fish meat. Too good to believe.
If you're on the way back to KL from IN, may stop over Yong Peng to experience it.

9. Yong Peng Biscuits ( Eng Hin)

Traditional biscuits shop located in the centre of yong peng town. Bring home with some traditional hand made biscuits. The factory workshop is open to public for sighting their making process. The filing is made from roasted peanuts which is also baked freshly from their factory.
The biscuits is quite unique, it's round in shape and as big as your palm. A bit chewy in texture and the filing made from the roasted peanuts is very tasty and tantalizing.
It looks like the spared cookies that the scholar used to store in their container when they're traveling long distance to the city for imperial examination in old era.
