Kampar Farm Stay ~ A town at the edge of glory

Kampar farm stay
2 days 1 night trip

Kampar is a small town nestled in Perak and not far from tapah and gopeng ( about 22 mins drive
Kampar used to be a very busy and lively town when express way (NKVE) towards north was not built up yet and all visitors had to bypass this town before reaching other key cities & towns like ipoh & Gopeng.
However, the glory time came to the end when the main thoroughfare built up and visitors are no longer route to this town for layover.
Since then, many shops started to close down due to low business volume and leftover was only some regular local residents.
The destiny of this town has been twisted when some universities & colleges sprouted in this town and the economy has been rallied ever after.
Stop by this town when you're otw to ipoh or gopeng. Reveal the historical footprints behind the town.

1. Re-farm Cave Stay ( 绿坊)

Refarm resort is located in kampar and it's a farm stay resort surrounded by greenery and natural reserved. The uniqueness of this resort is it's featured with spring pools, petting zoo, cave designed room, and fruits trees sections.
The only way that you can get rid of the digital world is to immerse yourself into this natural retreat.

Cave room

If you come into 2 pax, opt for the cave room. It's not spacious, and the room size is rather narrow and cramp but it perfectly fits a couple.
The atmosphere is like you're staying in a cave with your love one, but with air-conditioned. Rest assured that your relationship will grow deeper after this stay.

Pools ( Spring water naturally flown from mountain)

There are 2 pools in this resort. The main one is set just beside a waterfall and the other one is the center of the resort.
As told, the pool water is actually the spring water naturally from the mountain.
It's so refreshing when you soak yourself into the pool and you can feel the freshly cold water purifying your soul. It wonderfully relieve my tiredness.
MAIN POOL - there is a fountain in the center of the pool. Every now and then, a strong force of water will be shot out from the fountain. The the force messages your back and shoulder. What a relieve!
2ND POOL - IN the Centers of the resort. There is a manmade waterfall at the side. Let the water fall hit on your head, it creates a massaging effect. It's superb.

2. Dinner in refarm resort

You don't have to scratch you head for a dinner place. This resort has a restaurant and serving dishes.
Freshness guarantee as their fish source is from their own-rear and from their owned fish pond. Chicken meat is from their own free range chicken too. Organic + healthy. Probably you would think the cost of meal is pricey when the word *organic* appears. Surprisingly, 3 dishes only costed us less than RM 40.00. Do you believe it?

3. Kampar foods trail

One of the food spot that you shouldn't miss is this food street located in kampar town. You'll see a row of low rise single story shop house occupied by some local food hawkers. Don't judge from the least attentive & aged shop house, their taste is unexpectedly delicious and leaving you a feeling of *coming home*. Try the Asam Laksa, fish ball noodles, and fried stuff.
Asam Laksa is too good to believe. The soup base is so tasty and every spoonful of soup is full of aromatic sardin essence.
The Asam Laksa is served in a small portion with a small bowl. So you won't feel greasy or overly loaded. I'll recommend you to try this out !

Asam Laksa highly recommended
Locate this stall named Kam Yew for their famous and sumptuous Asam Laksa

Location:

Asam Laksa  - No.17
Operating hours : morning until 4pm.

4. Medan Selera Kampar ( Breakfast)

Dawn turns Kampar town from silence to a busy and lively town. Food scent starts lingering around this small town. Hawkers wake up early morning to prepare the cooking ingredients and awaiting the diners to treat their stomachs with a blissful breakfast to kick start of the day.
You would also see some old folks mingling with friends during breakfast and having a long chat with a cup of regular classic coffee.
Medan selera is a food court gathering all your favourite breakfast choices.
Special highlight :

A. Nasi lemak
B. Wan Tan Noodles
C. Overflowing coffee / Milo - suggest to share. It  comes with quite a big portion. ( 雪山加啡/美碌)
D. Half boil eggs
E. Classic Coffee

Location : Medan Selera Kampar, Jalan Masjid
Operating hours : 5am - 2pm ( Day time only)

5. CB Chicky Biscuits

Kampar is famous with their local cookies called Chicky Biscuits ( 鸡🐔仔饼). Look for the red wording logo *CB* . It's so crispy and well baked with traditional baking ingredients.
This is the best chicky biscuits that I ever have. Bring some to your friends if you come across here. Share the enjoyment of this small town delicacy. Can also try the egg cake ( kuih bahulu) they're usually serving the fresh from oven ones.

6. Kampar Tin Museum

Kampar has a trail of history about tin mining. This museum recorded the footprints of the past era and how this kampar town was immersed in their booming economy with the rich in tin mineral.
As part of the Perak Kinta Valley, Kampar was once deemed as tin mining centre in late 1880. Tin was widely used and the extraction works of Tin was excessively conducted by a lot of foreign traders. Especially Chinese from China.
During this time, a lot of ground was dug for the purpose of tin collection. Hence you would probably see a dozen of small lakes surrounding kampar town as a result of Tin Mining from the past era.
This museum is more concentrating on Gravel Pump extraction method.
It illustrates the full process from tin being collected to the last being readily made.
It's a good learning centre indeed.
