Kulai town is a district of the state of Johore. A town that you would tend to overlook when other major attractions like LEGOLAND, Hello Kitty City are too overwhelming and commercialized.
However, this small town is still awaiting you to discover it's chams & authenticity. It has no fancy or modernized amusement, but there are still something worthwhile to be visited.
Nevertheless, Since JPO premium outlet has been launched, it has slightly elevated the economy in this small town and more visitors started to realizing the essence of this admirable town.

2. Street Arts

There is a cultural street in Kelapa Sawit. The name of this place is indeed called KELAPA SAWIT. The most eye catching is the murals here. Upon entering to the street, both sides of the backlane wall are painted with colourful and beautiful murals and arts.
I would say this could be the longest street arts that I've ever seen. It's separated into 2 sections. Front & back. They're just along the same street but split into 2 sections by a middle road.
Every painting implies certain meaning and story, I could feel the ample efforts that the artist invested to prove to the world that something is not replaceable especially ARTS !
It's worth to visit. Take a picture In front of this arts and showing your appreciation to their master piece of works. This is limited edition. You can see but not for sale.

4. Pastry ( 菜板,桃板)

Hakka pastry is one of the popular pastry in Kulai. There are 2 kind of best seller parties. One is *cai pan* and another is *tao ban*. Cai ban look like a dumpling shape and it's stuffed with turnips and dried shrimp and another flavour is Chinese leek.
Tao ban is in pink colour and shaped like a peach. He stuffed with glutinous rice and chewy in taste.
Both are nice. If you prefer sweet, then opt for tao ban, if savoury, then cai ban. Ichiban!

5. Dinner at restaurant 68 ( 回味68海鲜餐阁)

You may try out this Chinese seafood restaurant located in Jalan Manis Kulai. It's an open air restaurant with a very spacious dining area. It's suitable for a family dinner or any celebration  for special occasion.
As usual, you can order some dishes from this restaurant, and the taste is really home cooked alike. Their signature is *大车米粉* in translation - big car fried beehoon. This is so delicious. You would never be able to do it at home as this requires a strong fire stove and only it will trigger the scent of wok with slight scorch, and adequate dryness.
You may order their other signature dishes like steam fish, and ginger onion chicken cube.
Price is reasonable.

Hakka community is one of the majority ethnic in Kulai Town. Certainly, hakka delicacy becomes well known in this town. One of the most localised food is Hakka Thunder Rice. I came to know this from my mom. She's the big fans of this rice. It's a combination of assorted vegetable and served with a peppermint alike soup. It's rather different from KL, especially the ingredient that they used.
Every bite of the rice is enriched with the aroma of vegetable and peanuts, and drink a spoon of soup to further compliment the taste.
You would definitely enjoy the chewing of the vegetable, when they're being minced off in your mouth and it perfectly trigger the chlorophyll of the vegetable and crunchy peanuts. Sumptuous  try out this shop.

8. Melaka Portuguese settlement

Believe Melaka is not new to everyone. This episode will share with you more about the Christmas atmosphere in Melaka Portuguese settlement.
Our arrival in conjunction to the Christmas festive, we were fortunate to witness an extraordinary celebration near to Portuguese settlement.
As Melaka was once conquered by Portuguese, you would find a lot of historical sites in Melaka recording the sign of this bygone days of Portuguese.
Surrounding of this Portuguese settlement are majority the Portuguese generation, they inherited the culture & other emblems from Portuguese.
Their main festive celebration is Christmas. As our arrival coincided to their festive celebration, we managed to sight the breathtakingly wonderful celebration from this village.
The villager decorated their houses with different Christmas theme, and each house seemed so competitively beautiful.
The lighting of the houses lit up the whole street and all the visitors blended into their bustling and hustling street just to share the enjoyment.

9. Satay celup

One of my main mission to Melaka is having stay celup. The specialty is the satay sauce and you can pick you favourite ingredients ( in stick form) in the fridge and dip into hot and smoky sauce set in the centre of your table.
Once it's cooked, served it while it's still hot and you may request for bread & cucumber cubes as your sides.
The sauce rumbling on your mouth and the fish balls absorbed with all the essence of satay sauce. Imaging you bite on it and the satay sauce squeeze into your teething gap. What a superb feeling.
Personally, I like the satay celup shop called ban lee siang as capitol is too long to queue
