Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya - The Journey Back To Nature

A Tranquil Retreat at Tanah Aina Sorraya

I recently discovered Tanah Aina Farrah Soraya, a beautiful nature sanctuary-themed resort, through a website. What instantly caught my attention was their full-board staycation package, which includes four meals a day and various in-house activities fully guided by the resort team. Intrigued by this concept, I decided to try it out and booked the 2 days 1 night package over a long weekend.

Arrival & First Impressions
Our journey began at the designated parking area, where we were transported to the resort via a 4-wheel drive—the only way to access the resort. The bumpy, rocky ride gave an early taste of adventure and exclusivity, making it feel like we were entering a hidden gem deep within untouched nature.

Prior to our arrival, our driver contacted us to confirm our pickup and sent a kind reminder.

Booking was seamless, thanks to Ms. Juliet, who was incredibly responsive and accommodating, answering every query within seconds, which boosted our confidence in the resort’s service.

At the parking area, we were warmly greeted by Mr. Fajar, our driver, who helped load our luggage and welcomed us aboard the open-concept 4WD. The 10-minute adventurous ride through a steep, rugged trail only heightened our anticipation.

The Sanctuary Unveiled
As we approached the resort, we were greeted by lush greenery, towering trees, pristine river streams, and virgin tropical forest. The sound of flowing water instantly soothed our minds—it was like stepping into a paradise crafted by Mother Nature herself.

Upon arrival, the entire resort crews welcomed us with heartfelt smiles and refreshing welcome drinks. Mr. Taufan provided a warm debrief, and Ms. Sabin, one of the key coordinators, personally introduced herself. From the first moment, their hospitality was genuine and captivating.

Day 1 Itinerary

Lunch (12:30 PM – 2:00 PM)
We enjoyed a buffet of traditional Malay cuisine, featuring a variety of delicious options. My personal favorites were the three-flavored fish and the stir-fried beef cubes, both of which tasted like they came from a Michelin-starred kitchen.

Jungle Trek to Waterfall (2:30 PM – 4:00 PM)
A 600-meter guided trek through the jungle led us to a hidden waterfall with a diving platform. The water was about 20 feet deep—refreshingly cold and crystal clear. This experience was truly rejuvenating, awakening all five senses and offering a deep sense of healing and peace.

Tea Time (4:30 PM – 5:30 PM)
Tea was served with light pastries and fried bihun—simple yet delicious.

Free & Easy (5:30 PM – 7:30 PM)
We had time to relax and explore the serene surroundings at our own pace.

Dinner (7:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
Dinner was a delightful BBQ-themed buffet with both Western and local dishes, including:
• Bolognese pasta
• Grilled lamb & chicken
• Caesar salad & coleslaw
• Pumpkin soup with toast
• Fried rice & onion rings
• Grilled mushrooms
• Desserts: fruit cocktail, sago with brown sugar, fruit rojak, and mangoes

Evening Activity (9:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
A short video montage was played, recapping our moments at the resort. A night walk and stargazing were scheduled but unfortunately cancelled due to rain.

Day 2 Itinerary

Morning Walk to Peak Paradise (6:45 AM – 7:45 AM)
We hiked through a 300-meter grassy trail to reach the highest point of the resort, surrounded by durian orchards and panoramic views. The morning mist and cool air made the climb worthwhile, offering a soul-soothing, wellness-focused start to our day.

Breakfast (7:45 AM – 9:00 AM)
After our walk, we were treated to a hearty breakfast, perfectly capping off our refreshing morning.

Flying Fox (9:00 AM)
This optional activity (RM30 per ride) is highly recommended. Safety protocols were strictly followed by the staff, and I was impressed by their professionalism and attention to detail.

Our Accommodation: Bamboo Melor Chalet

View & Environment
Our bamboo-structured chalet featured an outdoor coffee table with a calming view of nature. It was a perfect blend of rustic charm and cozy ambiance.

Interior & Amenities
The unit included three double-decker beds, but we only used the lower bunks—and still had the whole chalet to ourselves!
• 2 bathrooms
• Ironing board
• Ceiling and stand fans (no air conditioning, but great ventilation)
• Kettle and drinking water
• Toiletries provided

Design
Built mainly from wood and bamboo, the design combined indigenous aesthetics with subtle British charm. Despite the lack of air-conditioning or WiFi, the space was incredibly comfortable and cool.

Other Facilities & Experiences

• Reading & TV corner: An open-concept lounge with books and Astro channels.
• Nightly video recaps of the day’s activities.
• Star Gazing (weather permitting).
Though disconnected from mobile signal and WiFi, the experience of being completely immersed in nature was priceless. It reminded us of what truly matters—peace, simplicity, and the beauty of the present moment.

Special Thanks
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff who made our stay memorable:
Kuat, Taufan, Rony, Amandul (from the kitchen), and of course, Ms. Sabin. Every team member was attentive, friendly, and dedicated to ensuring guests were well taken care of.

Final Thoughts
Close your eyes. Let the sound of flowing rivers, rustling leaves, and chirping insects replace the noise of daily life. This is the symphony of nature. A gentle reminder of who we are at our core. Tanah Aina Sorraya is more than a resort, it’s a return to life’s purest essence. A truly unforgettable, soul-nourishing escape.
