ETHOS FOREST - LET THE NATURE SPEAK !

Ethos Forest-有声林Let the nature speak! 

This is one of the hidden gem in Karak. Do not limit your itinerary only in Bentong, there are much more to explore after Bentong. Karak town is also one of the highly recommended destination for staycation nowadays. Although Karak is rather a modest and low profile town, you can find the most virgin forest and bold nature surrouding this area. 

There is no fancy malls or urbanised commercial building, yet, you can have the closest reach-out to all the natural reserves. Slow down your pace, empty your mind, or simply watching the heart of nature, this will be a most meditating way to find a good relief. 

Browsing through the Karak District, this Ethos Forest Resort has drawn my attention with their very unique name. The name implies the sound of the forest. It gives me the first impression that this resort is emphasising on the meditation or a soul healing retreat accompanied by the beautiful nature. 

I've made a call and the person in charge Hao Ren has given me a lot of information about the resort. I came to know that this resort is a meat free resort. No meat eating is allowed within the resort compound. They promoted health conscious as well as healthy living. 

I've booked 2D1N with 2 rooms shared among my family and relatives. 

My experience is shared as below. 

Our stay started with a very refreshing and healthy welcome drinks. It's a sort of enzyme drink. Cheers ! 

1. Location/Map

This resort is nestled within a hillside. After karak town, you need to branch out into an inner road and drive uphill. The road up hill is narrow and winding. It takes about 15 mins drive alongside the hill to reach out to the resort. Private car has no issue to access. It's just that the road is a little winding and ascending. 

2. Surrouding 

Ethos Forest Resort is surrounded by the rolling hills and greenries. Zero pollution ad there is no high traffic road in vicinity. As the resort is built at a higher ground area, it can be perfectly overlooking a beautiful highlands and the entire valley alongside the hills. The scenery is really breathaking. 

3. Ethos Resort Overview 

Ethos resort is not as significant as other big corporated resort. However, it's complete with beautiful villas and rooms set up, reception, facilities, cafes, spring water splash pool and other essentials for a comfort stay-in. 

4. Resort layout 

A. Reception 

There is a reception at the top floor featured with a sofa lounge as well as a information corner for the guest to understand the resort concept. Some books to be further entertaining the readers. It is also having some board games and indoor games tools. 

B. Cafe 

There is an in-house cafe and dining hall for the guest to enjoy a sip of the coffee or simply grab a seat for a chill-out. This cafe place is overlooking the mountains and the beautiful scenic hills. Dinner, breakfast are served here too. They are also having thier signature in-house brand of drinks or snacks in their menu selection. Such as Bio Green and etBlisse products. All the products are concentrating on organic base and balance dietary. 

C. Linkage stairs 

There are many linkage stairs within the resort to enable the guest conveniently access to all the areas within the resort without stepping out. 

D. Yoga and exercise platform

There are 2 platforms for the guest to enjoy the cool air and paranomic view. The guest can do yoga or exercise in the early morning. They can also feast their eyes with beautiful cloud carpet during the dawn hours. 

5. Room and Villas 

Villa (Family Suite) 

There are several room types and villa to be chosen. Villa comes with private living hall, and 3 attached bedrooms. There is also a private seating corner in front of the villa overseeing the hilly paradise. 

(Deluxe Room) for smaller family or couple.

For other rooms, it can accomodate 2 pax and extra bed is available for add on and the maximum capacity is 3 pax. The deluxe room is rather basic but it's complete with all the amenities such as Hair Dryers, attached bathroom, and hangers. 

We'd chosen deluxe unit and we were truly amazed by the comfortability of the bedding equipment. The room is clean and cozy. 

6. Activities 

There are some activities to be carried on selectively during the stay. Below is the list of the activities 

A. Tree Hugging ( to absorb the positive energy and vibes from the nature) 

B. Splashing pool - To cool down your body with purified spring water. 

C. A small hiking pathway - To overview the entire hilly paradise. 

D. Sunrise watching 

E. Night search of glowing scorpion (Guided) 

F. Camp Fire 🔥 - unfortunately, there was a rain during our stay, so the camp fire has been called off.

G. Kids activities - such as nature hunts, paper making, coloring test, and etc. We've opted the nature hunts. It's quite fun too. 

E. board game / indoor game 

F. Doing exercise or simply taking a fresh air at the platform

7. Meals 

Suggested to opt in their meals packages with extra cost. They're serving full vegetarian meals. We've bought their vegetarian Steamboat package. We asked for 2 different pot of flavoured soap, one is Mala and another is beauty pot. Both are equally delicious. Healthier and less cholesterol. 

Dinner 

Breakfast 

For breakfast, it's included in the package. We can choose form their breakfasts menu. There are 3 options. 

Each guest can order either one of the following 

A. Hainan Brekfast Set 

b. Hearty Sandwich Set 

E. Vegan Nasi Lemak. 

All are tasty and nutritious. A good start of the day. 

Comments 

I find Ethos Forest resort is an ideal place and quickest way to have a getaway from hustle and bustle city. Staying in the resort, you would feel completely isolated and your mind will be freed from all the worries and anxiety. 

Throughout the stay, you would also find your inner peace and the tranquillity will help calm your monkey mind for a moment and let you have a deep break with great rejuvenation. 

Seeing all the greens and the natural reserves, we seem hearing them echoing to us that mother nature would be forever there guarding the man kind. 

What we actually need is just a " REST" 

Cons : 

The resort needs to proactively inform the guest about all the available activities. 

Need to have a pest control especially the ant empire. 🐜 

Special thanks to the PIC Hao Ren for giving us a memorable time during our stay. He is also very supportive and accmodative during our stay. Like the tour that he gave us on the scorpion search.
