Bentong - The heart of nature

Ellin Forest Resort is quietly nestled along a bentong hillside. In order to reach out to this resort, the guests need to access using the inner roads of Bentong. Exit to kampung bukit tinggi and follow the inner path to head down to this resort. It's the same way to Watervilla.

I just heard about this resort lately and wanted to try much earlier. However, it's usually fully booked during peak season. So happen, we managed to book a night stay during the month of hungry ghost festive. Perhaps there are not many people travelling this month, we managed to secure a room with 5 person capacity.

We didn't put so much hopes before reaching this resort, we assumed this could be just an ordinary resort with some basic facilities. Upon arrival, there was a very unnoticeable slope heading up to the resort. Please make sure you won't miss it. There was no signage or any signage. Only waze could navigate this slope.

After gearing up to 2 very steep slopes, it will eventually lead to the main building of the resort. The final slope is the steepest one before reaching to the parking bay.

There are designated parking bay in front of the main resort lobby. From this parking platform, we could already see the beautiful landscape surrounding the resort.

At the back of the resort, there is a huge piece of land ascending up. All the fruit trees 🌳 expecially Durian trees are rooted gorgeously along this piece of land.

At the foot of the resort, there is a multi-layer splashing pool with natural spring water flowing down form the hilltop. These pools are segregated into different section with different deepness. Ranging from 3 dt to the deepest at 8ft. Tehre is one section of pool is built underneath a walking bridge. So it's considered an indoor pool. Regardless of rainy day, the guest can still enjoy in this indoor section.

The person in charge named Mag touring us around the resort and gave us brief introduction about the resort layout, facilities as well as other procedures. She patiently explained all the information and procedure to us and lastly she escorted us to our room.

Mag di her best to give us a best information as she could despite having another guest whom she might need to assist with.

This resort is very spacious and it has been divided into few sections including guest room, registration counter, karaoke room, main dining hall and chill out areas. It's a perfect place for a family staycation. Let me give you walk through of the resort features and facilties.

1. Main Building / chill out area / main dining place

- This main buiding consists of 2 separate sections to cater a larger crowd during peal season. Usually they will only operate 1 section during peak season.

- Chill Out Area : There is a chill-out area along the edge of the platform of the main lobby. It's like a bar table with some lounge chairs. The guest can enjoy the breathakign scenery while sipping a glass of refreshing juice or beer !

-Main Dining Place : all the dining tables and chairs are stationed at the centre of the main building hall. There are quite plenty of that, so that it's definitely sufficient for all the stay-in guests.

2. Kitchen

The kitchen is also located within the main building. The kitchen is divided into :

- Wet Kitchen

Equipped with complete utensils and all the chef standard kitchenware. All the kitchen equipment, tools, ingredients are readily available for the guest use. Besides there are 2 big chiller for the storage of the perishable foods of the guest. It's indeed convenient for the guests who plans to do some cooking during the stay.

- Dry kitchen

Dry kitchen is stationed at the corner within the dining place. They're are some basic supplies such as

Water dispenser

A bar table to display the taoster, egg cooker, sachets of drinks, and some light snack. Guest can enjoy the tea time and snack anytime throughout the stay.

3. Spring water pools

As mentioned, there are 3 sections of pool where the pool water is sourced from the spring water from the mountain.

A. Deep pool (8 ft)

B. Indoor pool (4- 6ft)

C. Lower ground shallow pool (3ft)

The pool water is super rejuvating !. The pool water is not as clear as the swimming pool water, and instead, it's a little bit muddy with some algae. But the water is truly refreshing and it can perfectly quench your tiredness and full of the effect of detoxing.

4. Karaoke Room

A private and fully air-conditiong karaoke room for further entertaining the guest. This karaoke room looks like a VIP room with impressive sound system. Plenty of songs to choose too.

Moreover, the room is attached with a foot long window facing the beautiful mointain ⛰️

5. During Farm / small hike behind the resort.

Behind the resort is a company of a huge piece of ascending Durian farm. According to the owner, the Durian species is Musang King. There're also other fruits plants such as pineapple, banana, lemon and etc. There is a proper hiking trail with a tyre made pathway for the guest to easily hike up to the peak. The view up there is super breathaking.

6. Fish Pond

There is also a fish pond beside the pool are. Kids can enjoy some fish feeding activities.

7. Yoga Platform

There is also a big platform at the 2nd floor of the main building. A level down from the dining place. The platform is overseeing all the rolling hills.

8. Room

The room assigned to us was a deluxe duplex room. The room layout is as follow

Lower Ground : there is a queen size bed, closet, a make up mirror, and the bathroom.

Upper level : there is a wooden stairs at the side of the room to reach out to the upper level. Basically, the upper level comes with 2 very big floor matters which can accomodate about 4 persons.

In total, this room can accomodate up to 6 pax and extra bed is available for add-on..

The room is very detailed and uniquely designed in a duplex style. There are a lot of windows in the room to enable a more visual sense of space, and reduce the stress of feeling confined.

9. Other activies

- Steamboat

- BBQ

During our stay, we'd prepared the Steamboat for dinner. Actually it's not that distant to drive to all the restaurant near Kampung Bukit Tinggi. But I'll strongly recommend to do your own dinner at the resort since all the utensils and kitchenware are so organised and fully available. It's truly convenient.

While enjoying our Steamboat, we could also feel the cool air surround. Insects buzzing, scent of fiona and fauna, and the fascinating natures. It helped increase much of our appetite with this beautiful surroundings.

10. Breakfast

Breakfast is rather simple and basic. Yet you can rest assured that it's enough to give you a power start of the day !

Ellin resort is a very family oriented resort, despite being here with your family or a couple honeymoon, you will find yourself immersed in the inner soul of the nature. Mother nature always unselfishly shares their sincere tone and most purified air to remind us that we all belong to the same powerful Mother. A mother that we are born and die in it !
