Batu Batu Resort - Passage To The Earthly Paradise
Batu Batu Resort - Passage to the earthly paradise
Talking about island resort, most of us will always relate it to the most popular island destinations such as Redang, Tioman or Pangkor. In fact, there are many private island resort quietly established near to all these dominant destinations.
These private island resorts are modestly built alongside the virgin coastline and they're rather exclusive compared to other high traffic islands destinations
I just had an experience staying in Batu Batu Resort nestled on an isolated island at Pulau Babi Tengah. This island is privately and wholy owned by Batu Batu Resort. It's truly exclusive and less crowded.
Batu batu resort is the only resort standing on this beautiful island (Pulau Babi Tengah). Same jetty for boat departure as other island Tioman, rawa and etc.
It took only 30 mins boating duration to get into this earthly paradise island and the boat trip is organised privately by Batu Batu resort.
There are only 2 trip of boat, which is 11am or 2pm. So if you miss the early bird, then then the next will be 2pm.
Batu Batu resort is offering a full board package and min stay is 2 nights. As this is a standalone island, all the amenities are solely operated by Batu Batu resort, as such, it's a mandatory to opt for thier full board package.
We laid over in JB(Johor Bahru) a day before and we drove to Mersing jetty the next day early morning at 7am. So we managed to catch the 11am boat. But the time was really rushing. Suggesting to stay a night at Mersing town to avoid any delay or contingency issues.
From Mersing Jetty, the sea water was still muddy and stinky. However, when we were almost approaching the Pulau Babi Tengah, it was a like a sudden magical change, the sea water turned into crystal clear blue with the mixture of Jade green. When we were almost reaching the docking jetty of batu batu resort, the sea water was even more prominently clear and with multi layer of natural mineral colours. From deep blue with jade green, and the more we approached the coastline, it started fading out to apple green and finally turning into a crystal clear with ribbon alike waves. And it perfectly contrast with the pearly white sands. What a a beautiful paradise !
We all were so wowed with the heavenly beautiful coastline appeared right in front of us. And under the hot sun, the sea 🌊 has become even more bold in colours and the sea breeze seemed welcoming us with their soft and cooling taps.
It's such a beautiful resort we've landed. Can't wait to jump into the ocean and absorb the sea salt essence with a deep sun bathing. The corals can be clearly seen from the boardwalk and a lady named Shuen has already waited us at the jetty and prepared to escort us through the entire Resort introductory tour.
She led us to the main lobby of the resort amd assisted us with the check in procedure. We were seated and served with welcome drinks. A refreshing watermelon welcome drink has added extra sweetness and refreshing to our overall check in experience.
The main lobby was truly amazing. Surrounded by the paranomic ocean view and it's separated into front and rear section. The front is the main dining hall and the rear is the chill out area for kids. The most stunning one is that the rear section is accompanied by a giant rock. Trust that this is also why they're named after the rocks (Batu Batu)

Below is my walk-through of the resort
Room/ villas
All the villas are built alongside the coastline and to the extent ascending up to the hills. If your villa is up to the hill, the view will be extraordinarily breathaking as you will have a super holistic seaview.
Our villa is called beach front Villa (S8) and it's featured with a beach front view. We are able to oversee the entire beach ⛱️ stretch out till the main lobby. Of course, we it's super convenient too if we wish to swim at the seaside as it's just few steps away. 🚶♂️
The layout of our villa is as follow :
Front Yard
- there is a small stairs going up to our villa. Besides the stairs, there is one foot washing pipes. Just to get rid of your sandy feet.
- The front yard is actually a very spacious balcony featured with a coffee table, a very big sofa lounge.
- The sofa lounge is super comfy as it's overseeing the beautiful scenic ocean view.
Centre of the villa
-Upon entering to the villa, there is a queen size bed at the core of the living hall. At the side wall, there is an additional sofa bed 🛌 for one person sleep.
- behind the main bed, there is a small reading table with a table lamp 🔦. And the living hall is always featured with air conditioning, TV, and cabinet.
Bathroom area
- The bathroom is next to the living hall and separated by a wooden door. The bath room is super spacious.
-They're divided into 3 main section.
A. Dry basin areas
B. Cabinet with all the essentials and toiletries including bath robe, iron, umbrella, safety box and etc.
C. A bathtub in the centre of the bathroom area, and overseeing the beautiful 🌊
D. At the last section is the shower area. There are 2 partition, one is for shower and another is for passing.
Bunk Bed Corner ( 2 small room with 2 units of Bunk Bed)
There're additional 2 bedroom located at the edge of the both sides of the building. The one near to the living hall consist of a Bunk Bed and the same goes to the one near to the bathroom. There is another small room stationed with a Bunk Bed.
Facilities
There are many things we could do during the stay. They're listing down as follow
A. Infinity Pool- this pool is overseeing the unblocked ocean. Super cool !
B. There're at least 5 swimable beaches. Some are child friendly.
- sunrise beach
- junior reef beach
- batu batu resort beach
- long beach
- turtle beach
- shringle beach
All the above beaches are so indescribably beautiful and they're so accessible along the coastline. Their beaches are highly rated and featured with soft white sands espically the junior reef beach, the sand is soft and fine. Suitable for kids fun.
C. Snokerling
Snorkeling can be done at any shallow water at any beaches as mentioned. It's not necessary to transport to another island for Snorkeling. Of course, there is also an ideal Snorkeling route stated in the map. It shows all the possible encounters for the respective Snorkeling routes recommended.
We tried Snorkeling at Junior Reef sea. We were so fortunate to bumped into :-
-Live corals
-Stingrays
-Sea Urchin
-clown fishes
-jelly fish
-puffers fish 🐟
D. Trekking
There are 2 routes for jungle Trekking. We've chosen the easier one. But the easier one took us almost 2 hours to complete. The trail is quite confusing. And alot if up and down path. But its worthwhile to hike up as the view point station at the peak will allow a most stunning sea view with horizontal line between the fluffy clouds and deep blue ocean. The total distance is about 1.5km.
E. Other activities include
- kayaking
-scuba diving (extra cost)
-cycling
-movie night
-turtle hatchery

F . Hospitality

The most healing sound in the world is the wavy sound of the ocean! Every crashing sound through hitting the reef will be a different rhythm. I always believe that the hertz created from the waves is a wakeup call from the mother ocean to remind people that the power of the nature !
