Further from KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport), there are indeed still many interesting places to be explored. Sepang district is one of the closest one from KLIA. It's also well known as a Dragon Fruits Empire.

Dragon fruit plantation is one of the key agricultural business in Sepang and it has dominated the entire place of Sepang District.  Driving along the thoroughfare of Sepang town, the prominent dragon fruits farm neatly carpet the entire land will surely draw your most attention. 

As Dragon Fruits is deemed as one of the key production in Sepang, there are many ad hoc stalls selling the dragon fruits have been set up besides the maim road. This is also how the farmer could generate the part-time fast income. 

Further down from Sepang, dragon fruits farm will slowly fade out and the cool sea side will be waving ro welcome you. Bagan Lalang with its popular landmark AVANI SEPANG has made this place a most accessible tourist attraction. It's also one of the closest seaside from KL besides Morib. 

Bagan Lalang beach has the finest sand and the most beautiful sunsetting coastline. The sea water is not the cleanest one but the lovely sea breeze will summon you to come and embrace it. 

Lately, there are a lot of reports and hotels established surround this area. This has also become most of the people choice for picnic or a short weekend getaway. 

Sipping the pure and authentic dragon fruits juice and feast your eyes with beautiful sunset. This could be one of the most meditating things to do in one weekend. 

In case your miss your flight, it's always not too late to go for a detour. 

The so called dragon town will warmly welcome you with their sweet and lovely DRAGON POTION. Guaranteed refreshing and thrist easing! 

Let me introduce some places of interest. 

1. Automobile Museum 

This museum is located within the sepang circuit. It's not as huge as other museum yet it gathers most of the precious displays to feast your eyes.
There are many vintage cars exhibited in this museum, some are manufactured way back in ancient time even before you & I born.
It well illustrates the evolvement of cars and how Malaysia was developed with this sectors When we were having our house brand proton and perodua.
I would say it's worth to visit if you're a car lover but if you're not, I'm sure you can snap some memorable pictures with those exotic and extinct model cars in this museum.

2. Anjung spotters

Anjung Spotters near to KLIA is the best spot to watch the aeroplane fly overhead. It's as close as you can touch it. Shooting some nice & memorable photos with the giant bird could be truly fun ! 

Pls take note that there are 2 sections 

1st section : there is a platform with some seats. This platform is merely for observing the plane from a distance

 

2nd section : This is the spot you can really have a very close-up angle to watch the plane fly overhead. Too awesome. This location is before the anjung spotters platform and just pull over at the roadside.

3. Multi Rich Pitaya Dragon Fruits farm 

Most of us have seen the dragon fruits but probably have no idea how the plants look like. Multi Rich Pitaya dragon fruit farm is main dragon fruits producer in Sepang.
This dragon fruits farm provides you a holistic view of dragon fruits plantation stretch out as far as your eyes can see.
That was my first time seeing thousands probably million of dragon fruit plants lining up neatly on a the ground. The unique shape of the plants look like many cloned *medusa* head rooted in ground.
The best about this farm is they allowing you to walk into the farm and have a closest contact to the plants as well as a detail observation of those plants from every stems to every roots.
You can freely snap a picture In between the lining up plants, it gives a very superb camera effect if you're professional enough to capture the right angle. Mind the thorn when You walk around. They're just protective.
You can have some free testing cut fruits. So sweet & succulent the dragon fruits here. They're all in red meat. Too hard to resist.

5. Ah cheng Laksa

6. Sungai Pelek Food Hunt 

When you're on the way to tanjung sepat, you will pass by a small town called Sg. Pelek. Nothing fancy about this town, but you can stop over for some street snacks within the town. There are some open sided stalls near to roadside selling some tea time snack. I'll recommend you the following : 

A. Prawn crackers / Spring Roll 

Locate this mobile cart selling prawn crackers and spring roll. The stall run by a Chinese woman and her daughter. The special highlight is the prawn crackers. Super crispy and there are 2 huge prawns attached in the centre of the crackers. A perfect bite for your tea time. The batter is well mixed with onion and leek. You won't taste a lot of flour. Can try their home make spring roll too. The filling is tasty with well marinated minced meat 

B. Chinese Pastries

There is a stall selling some Chinese Pastries. The variety is impressive. And some nyonya pastries are equally nice as the ones that you have in Melaka. Try the cendol kuih. It's nice 

C. Fu Zhou giant Cookies ( 夜夜香福州光饼)

This stall is located in front of the Chinese kopitiam YE YE XIANG (夜夜香). This stall is selling traditional Fu Zhou Cookies. There're 3 kind of fillings. BBQ  pork, red bean & peanuts. Personally, I like the barbeque flavour as its more savory kind and tastes like home cooked recipes. But it comes with some fatty bits. Its worth to try.

10. Avani Sepang 

Avani Sepang is one of the 5 star resort in Sepang Distict. It's famous with its floating villa on the sea. All the villa are beautifully built on the ocean. By staying in the villa, the guest would enjoy the superb paranomic seaview. Peering from the balcony of the villa as if you're cruising through the ocean with borderless horizon.

If you're not staying here, there is also a public beach neighboring to Avani Sepang. You can freely access for a picnic or enjoying the beach front activities. 

Avani Sepang is also having a seafront restaurant. By ordering a Beverage or some Snack, you can be seated with astonishing sea view. Super cool ! 

11. Lea cocoa farm 🚜

Lee Cocoa farm visit could has two sessions, whether in the morning, suggested start at 9am onwards, or afternoon start at 230pm. 😊

Farm visit > to explore the planting process and raw cacao fruit tasting. Duration within 2 hours.

Shop > knowing the roasting, husk winnowing and chocolate making process and enjoy chocolate sampling session. Duration in an hour.

For the fee charge:

Adult, rm50/pax; Kids, rm40/pax (below 3yo free). With complimentary of hot/Ice chocolate drink each and a slice of chocolate truffle cake/ or a volcano brownie (gluten free) for sharing. For 6-8 pax, we will serve 2 slices of desserts for sharing.  

Special arrangement for only 2 adults with light refreshment: rm80/pax. Include hot chocolate drink for each person and one truffle cake/brownie for sharing.
