Seremban delights - 1 blog 1 Seremban
Seremban town is within the state of Negeri Sembilan. It's one the busiest and lively town in Negeri Sembilan. Perhaps I need not to introduce much of this town as it's widely known by all the local Malaysians. When you mention about Seremban, mostly will share with you about their Grilled Bun Pastry called *SIEW BAO* or beef noodles and many more other delicacies.
Seremban is popular with nice foods and natural parks reserves. Furthermore, the location is rather strategic . It's not far from Kuala Lumpur and it's a so called one stop place that you will definitely pass through if you're heading down to South such as Malacca and Johore.
Therfore, many locals will stop over in Seremban for foods or a short chill-out before continue the journey to the North.
Due to it's geographically strategic location, Seremban has been booming for the past few decades. More cafes and recreation parks have been sprouted out for the past few decades. Many locals flocking into this town to hunt for best foods and to satisfy their craves with all the local delights.
Let me share with you what you can eat and see in Serembam. Below are the Recommendations for foods and place of interests.
Places of interest :
1. Tai He Tang Cultural Museum (泰和堂文化馆)
This heritage museum has been established not long ago. It's pioneered by a sole antique collector Mr. Wong. He has dedicated his whole life to collect all the antiques around Seremban town.
He has even proudly called this place a small Seremban. You can see millions of a antiques exhibited in this museum, it's just like a time tunnel traveling us back to the old era and experiencing the most basic and traditional way of living.
Mr. Wong patiently explained very detail of this museum including a demonstration the usage of some aged equipment. The most exciting was that all the equipments still fully functioning. We were really surprised that certain antiques like phonographic, avintage Morris Car, microphone in 40's, and many more were still fully functioning.
It has been an uneasy journey for Mr. Wong to set up this museum. Without the support from the government, he is in his sole efforts to source all the antiques through the neighbouring community and every corner in Seremban and othe places within Malaysia. His great passion has finally been realised and leading him to a light of hope.
He has finally launched this museum and successfully put all his sweaty collections on shelf. Besides being a passionate antique collector, Mr. Wong is also expert in repairing all the spoilt antique equipment. He was formerly a car technician, hence the skill and knowledge accumulated can be well paid forward in this repairing works.
Bit by bit efforts from Mr. Wong, every corner in the museum has been filled up with the antiques with a series of memories from the past era. Mr. Wong never give up spirit is really admirable by many.
Today, his museum has gained alot of good creditability from the public. Some companies have engaged with Mr. Wong for venue booking for either wedding shooting or megazine advertisement. Isetan is one of the big client of Mr. Wong.
If you have come by Seremban, do stop over this museum, this cultural gem will provide you ALL IN ONE Seremban story under one roof.
Mr. Wong will be your good guide to show you his best collections and old memories behind a wrinkled forehead.
Important Notes: Pls make advance booking before the visit. In consideration of the disease outbreak, Mr. Wong will try to limit the capacity each session. Just to safeguard any breach of the SOP.

It's a very low profile & authentic old town taste coffee shop operated secretly in the middle of a small village of Mantin Town. The coffee shop is converted from a traditional cottage house and refurbished to be a coffee house.
They're serving traditional menu such as nasi lemak, Asam Laksa, Pastry and some desserts. It's a similar to nyonya concept and mostly are from the imparted family recipe. Dining in here, you will find a lot old era memories, and revive some of the long lost tatse.
25. Hainan Kopitiam (Hainan Association Negeri Sembilan)
We've come across this Hainan kopitiam when we were driving around the Seremban old town. This Kopitiam has drawn our attention due to it's situated in front of a vintage temple and within a very historical building. This kopitiam houses many local food stalls and all seems so authentic and full of local flavours.
We've ordered some of their signature foods highly recommended by the locals such as Hainanese noodles, Satay, Hainanese Chicken Chop and roasted Pork. Every serving was so satisfying. The most impressive is their in-house Beverage. Thier Hainan Tea and Coffee are the highlights of the kopitiam. This is one of the best Hainan ☕️ that I ever had. The coffee is so thick and aromatic. Take a sip and you will find the scent of coffee slowly immersing with your tongue and the mild roasted coffee taste will soothe your throat and lastly trigger your nostril with bitter sweet delight. So fine and smooth.
The surrounding of the kopitiam is well decorated with wall mural and photo shooting spots. It's truly a nice and ideal breakfast and lunch spot.

SEREMBAN is a compulsory one stop station for every Malaysian when heading to South. Seremban doesn't have modern building or trendy cafe. But the modest old town tatse will surely make you return for 2nd time especially when you're craving for a kind of very localised tatse as if you once had in a good old era.
Let's try them out. They're simply too bountiful.
