Raub - A town within the rolling hills

Raub is approximately 20 km further from Bentong town. Raub is well known with its large production of quality Durians named Musang King. You will probably come across a lot of Durian Trees lining up beautifully in this town. Seems like Durian empire has conquered this land and make it vibrantly known as Musang King birth place.

Every Durian season, people will start flooding this place just to taste the most toothsome and succulent Durian meat.

Besides Durian, there're essentially alot of others interesting places to visit. Driving along the Raub town, you will feel a sense of tranquility as well as peacefulness. This town is quietly surrounded by rolling hills. A lot of hidden gems are brought up by the locals however they've been buried even deeply during the past 2 years pandemic.

Let's discover all of them.

I was surprised that a new highway leading to Raub has been built after a 2 years pandemic lockdown. Nowadays, you can conveniently visit Raub town without passing through Bentong.

1. Peanut Sinn Loong Factory 🏭

DAY TRIP TO SINN LOONG PEANUT FACTORY

Highlights : Sinn Loong Peanut is made from organic ingredients. No preservatives. Once purchased, it's best to be consumed within a week for a most fresh quality.

As there is no added preservatives, that's also the reason that they've not supplied to the hypermarket. Usually hypermarket only acquire those with long lasting peanuts which is against the principal of Sinn Loong.

Peanut roasting period : Usually Friday - Sun. Best time to visit. But due to pandemic, it may affect their original schedule.

2. Kebun Sea Loy Kacang Goreng Sempalit

Bring back some local souvenirs from this shop too. They're are selling other local snacks and products too.

The factory is not open for visitation. Do visit Sinn Loong if you would like to have a tour if the peanut roasting process.

3. Gua Kechil

A beautiful Caves for public visitation.

It's abit hard to locate. Pls follow the below steps.

a. Waze to Kampung Tok Machang

b. Waze to Kuari (locate this signage). And turn into it.

c. 2nd junction, turn into your right ✅ . Enter to the small road.

d. Drive about 3 mins, you will see the Caves on your right. Opposite a rubber 🌳 estate.

5. Traditional Home made Hakka Chinese Pastries (Hakka Kuih) - No.4 Bukit Koman Main Street

Highlights :-

7. Tofu Factory Bukit Koman (Kilang Tau Fu Bukit Koman)

Bring back some puffy Tofu Puff from this factory. The Tofu Puff is made using the most fresh ingredients. This factory is situated in a centre of some old wooden houses. Full of old town taste.

8. Tong Nam Bee

This is a very typical Chinese Kopitiam.

All the in-house drinks are so authentic and satisfying! Do try their Chu Cheong Fun & Wan Ton noodles too. It's very economical and localised small town taste. It's like a long lost taste since our childhood. Do come by and try out this traditional inherited taste.

9. Sg Ruan Guan Yin Temple

Highlights :-

The 🌈 rainbow stairs ascending to the godly hall. It's also one of the key Instagramable spot.

10. Taman Ria Seafooda Restaurant

One of the best choice for your dinner place. Price is reasonable and foods are scrumptious too. But the waiting time is a little bit long. Do come earlier to avoid the long waiting time.

11. Restoran New Tea House & KF (锦华饼家)

Highlights :-

A. Best egg tarts & pastries

B. Banana leaves nasi lemak.

12. Supreme Bird Nest Enterprise (Stingless Bee Farm)

A guided tour about the bird nest harvesting process and nursery.

It's a very educational tour. You could have a chance to purchase some cheap birdnest too if you are regularly having it for a nourishment.

13. Fa Hua Shan Temple Bukit Koman

This Temple is featured with beautiful wall murals outside the fencing areas. When you're on your way to Bukit Koman, you will definitely pass through this temple. Do stopover and captures some beautiful pictures.

There're also a man made fountain with some godly statues built on top. A goddess Guan Yin statue is the most eye catching one.

14. 山寨谷 Restautant and Bee Farm Visit / Agro Valley Farm

This Shan zhai Valley is situated along the way towards Raub Town. It's nestled in a centre of a fish pond village and surrounded by greeneries and hillside. From the main road, there is a small junction entering to a small inner road and all he way leading to this village. The inner road tends to be a little bit narrow and winding.
