Day trip to Hulu Selangor 
Your journey should start from :- 
JENJAROM ~ PULAU CAREY ~MAH MERI CULTURAL VILLAGE ~JUGRA ~BANTING


If you're are tired for long drive, then you may try out the above itinerary. It will take you less than 1 hour drive to reach all the above destinations. Without spending a night, you may fulfill your day trip with all the wonderful destinations along the Hulu Kelang districts. 
If you plan your day well, 
You will be able to set your foot at all the awesome places as shown below. 
Spending your time wisely and check the operating hours for each or the visiting centres before your arrival. 
Hulu Kelang is not far. But how many of us have been to all these places? Let's get our journey started, there are simply too many things to experience and make your weekend extra meaningful. 


Morning

1. Jenjarom Breakfast

Stopover Jenjarom for a localised breakfast. 
There is a food court within the pasar pagi serving variety of localised chinese breakfast. You will be impressed by this small town yummy taste. It's a start of the day.

2. Mah Meri Cultural Village

Visiting Mah Meri Cultural Village. 
It's an Orang Asli Mah Meri Tribe cultural Village + museum located in Pulau Carey. It's not a very spacious village yet full of information & facts about this tribe and their cultural beauties. 
This place is currently lived by a small community of Mah Meri tribe. Hence it projects the actual living and all their beliefs through their generations. 
This village has been featured with all the Mah Meri traditional reserves including their straw houses, musical instruments, collections, woodworking workshop, and all sort of wood statues showing their strong animist beliefs. 
Mah Meri tribe is very skillfull in wood carving, every wood carving with a significant shapes and structure implying a specific meaning through the revival of their dreams and daily encounters. 
If you visit during the Moyang Festival, you would have a chance to witness their traditional ceremony with dancing performance celebrating  the peace and happiness brought by their ancestor as their village protector.

3. Pantai Pulau Carey

Driving from the main road of Pulau Carey towards the end, it will lead you to a dead end with a beautiful coastline. You can cape walk and overseeing the breathtaking ocean. 
At the horizon level, you would also see some of the giant cruises docking as far as the eye can see. It's so near yet too far during the low tide. 
Close to the cliff area, you would also come across some natives (Orang Asli) squatting on the shore to harvesting some oyster through hitting the rocks covered up by tons of shellfishes. 
The Cape to Cape walk is quite long. Do enjoy the beautiful scenery and cool sea breeze when you're here.

4. Tadom Hills Resorts 

This is a beautiful resort park with a magnificent fairy lake within it. 
All the accommodations in this resort is themed as a *back to nature concept*. The ambience as if you're going for a camping but fully facilitated by the resort. So everyone can conveniently experience a camping atmosphere with all the readiness. 
The lake is the highlight. There are some activities on the lake. Such as jumping board, flying fox and etc. It will meaningfully make your day with a wonderful SPLASH. 
You could also have the option of not staying but only entering to the lake park. Per entry is RM 15.

5. Paya Indah Wetlands 

Nearby the Pulau Carey, there is a government subsided park. This park is very huge and it comes with diffrent sections within the park. The most eye catching ones are the Hippopotamus & Crocodile Parks. You can have a very close up watch to the Hippo and to the extend that you're able to watch them in just a wall fence in between. 
Crocodiles Park is super chilling too. Thousands of crocodiles can be seen at one pond. Do catch up their feeding time. It's interesting. Others sections include flowers, plants and petting animals related too.

6. Pantai Klanang

Feel like enjoying a sunbathing or sea breeze? 
About 15km drive from Pulau Carey, it will lead you to this Pantai Klanang. This is a public beach and you can simply grab a nice spot under the shaded area and take a leisure nap.

7. Kuan wellness eco

This is a nicely decorated bird nest factory with a lot of educational facts about the bird best as well as the cycle of harvesting the nest. Advance and high technology are investes to produce the high quality of bird nest. 
There other sections in the park too including peering zoo, souvenir shops, and photo shooting galleries. 
It's a nice place for a family chill out.

8. Bukit Jugra

If you are the lover of any look out area, bukit jugra is one of the ideal place. Without having to hike up, you can easily drive your car and park and the designated parking space. The view from Bukit Jugra is super awesome. You could have the 360 degree panaroma view overseeing the entire village below your feet. 
Paragliding is one the popular activity here. Charge per session is to be negotiated with the instructor.

Up to the bukit jugra, there is an old lighthouse too. 
You can take some very instagramable pictures with this lofty white light house too.

9. Museum In situ

Futher down from the Bukit Jugra, there is a museum insitu exhibiting all the collective artifacts found from the site. This museum was initiated by the pioneer Harry Charles Sher in 1878. The building structure is very vintage and using alot of red bricks & granite material. Worth to visit.

10. Museum Sultan Abdul Samad

Nearby the bkt jugra look out area, there is a museum of Sultan Abdul Samad Mausoleum. The most eye catching is the structure of the building. It's built in the Moorish concept and it looks similarily to an Alladdin concept. Tourist is required to follow the dressing code before entering. As long as it's long pants with proper shirt, then you allowed to enter. Short pants or single are prohibited. This is to pay the highest respect to the late Sultan and a basic manner. 
Voice is to be kept low while inside the tomb.

11. Temple Thean Bao Gong ( 天宝宫)

There is a temple approximately 3 km from Bukit Jugra. Its just right opposite of the the beggar chicken restaurant. You may visit after having your lunch.

12. Beggar Chicken Jugra 

Coming to Jugra, one of the highlight is beggar chicken. Pre-order is needed. A chicken stuffed with all the high graded of herbs and covered up by the concrete bricks. Before serving, owner needs to hammer the bricks to retrieve the chicken. This traditional cooking method will help lock all the flavors inside the chicken meat. Extra tenders amd aromatic.

13. Taman Paya bakau sijangkang

Not many people know about this mangrove trail. It's a private mangrove board walk managed by the villager of Sijangkang. 
By paying a min fees, you can walk on the board walk and all the way leading you to the river bay. It's a well maintained mangrove walk with beautiful surrounding.

14. Pantai Cunang 

This is probably one of the cleanest and most scenic beach around Banting District. This beach is managed by the native Ornag Asli Mah Meri. Besides beach, they're offering accomodation with (small hut) guest house set just right in front of the beach.
There are many traditional orang asli houses situated along the coast line too. It add extra

15. Pantai Tanjung Piai (Pantai Acheh) 

This public beach spot is situated remotely within an industrial site. It's not a cleanest beach compared to others within this area, yet the quality of the sand beach is rather fine and smooth. Besides, this is also one of excellent spot for sunset viewing. 
The setting can fully sighted with no block. The golden brown colours reflected on the sand during the setting as if a dessert plated with gold surface. It's truly beautiful. 
As such, it also attracts a lot of photographer to visit here for a wedding 💑 photo shooting. 
Littering is noticeable as this is not a legally governed place by any authority. Therefore, there is no proper trash bin set up. 
Hope all the visitor could be a little responsible and considerate on the waste management.

Road entering to Pantai Tanjung Piai

When almost reaching to the beach side, you need to drive along a sandy path. The sandy pathway seems like a dead-end. Yet, it's still fully accessible. From entering to sandy, it takes another 3 - 5 mins to reach the seaside. 


16. Restaurant Asam Batu Restaurant 

After a full day intinerary in hulu Selangor District, you may complete your trip by pampering yourself with a yummy seafoods at this restaurant. Super fresh and the price is reasonable. The environment is superb too as it's situated just right in front of a bay. You can have an unblocked sea view while enjoying your succulent seafoods platter.
